OUR APPROACH

HappyFeet’s approach to developing gross-motor skills, creativity, and a positive self-concept aligns with Loris Malaguzzi’s theory of Reggio Emilia education. We focus on facilitating social collaboration, empowering the potential of each child, and fostering a sense of belonging and community through play. Additionally, our curriculum encourages learning through hands-on experience, creative storytelling, use of rhythm and repetition, and observation. 

How We Implement Reggio Methods in Our Classes

SOCIAL COLLABORATION

  • We encourage teamwork through games and collaborative problem solving during our adventures
  • We lead by example and encourage learning from observation and imitation of others
  • We encourage various ways of problem-solving as we value to “100 languages” children have of thinking, doing, and otherwise expressing themselves
  • We serve as co-learners and collaborators, rather than instructors that guide the session
  • We facilitate a safe, non-judgmental class environment for new ideas and play
